A Couple And Their SS3 Child To Be Persecuted By Ogun State Government Over Assault!
Agbara Grammar School in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State is purportedly home to a Senior Secondary School (SSS III) student and his parents. The kid allegedly assaulted the school's principal, Mr. Ajibola Olanrewaju, as well as one of the instructors.
According to reports, Olawale's uniform was confiscated by the Principal on Wednesday, February 14, after he was seen acting erratically and disrespectfully toward those in positions of power.
Punch claims that the principal further argued that Olawale had no business representing the school as a student because he had gone to register for the May/June West African Senior Secondary School Examinations in another private school, which is why the uniform had been seized.
The publication was informed by a source that Olawale would not take this well and that he returned home with his parents, storming the school a short while later.
The parents began to attack the principal, despite all attempts to calm them down and explain the circumstances. Olawale, the kid, smacked and tore his clothes on one of the professors during this.
On Sunday, February 18, Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, verified the unsettling incident and stated that the student and parents would shortly be held accountable for their misdemeanor act in front of a court of competent jurisdiction.
The commissioner stated:
“Yes, I am aware of the incident. It is condemnable and such won’t be allowed in our school. I am in touch with the relevant authorities and I can tell you that the boy and his parents will be prosecuted.
I learnt that the parents are already begging but I have insisted that they will get to court. It is a challenge that we had in the past when some of these parents were joining their children to attack the teachers but since one of the parents bagged six months of community service, the rubbish has stopped. So, for this one too, the state government will prosecute those involved, that is the only way to send signals to others that may want to travel this unpopular and crude way."
While condemning the incident, Comrade Seun Agbesanwa, the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, Ogun State, urged the state government to make sure that those responsible for the invasion and alleged assault on the school principal and teacher received the proper sanctions.
