Lagos: Third Mainland Bridge would be closed for 24 hours.

To enable the contractor to complete a significant portion of the ongoing bridge repair work, the Federal Ministry of Work will completely close the Third Mainland Bridge from Wednesday, February 28 to Thursday, February 29 at noon.

The Federal Ministry of Works' suspension was declared in a statement by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation. The bridge will not be available to traffic for a full day, thus the commissioner urged all drivers to utilize the alternate routes that were already in place during this time.
Osiyemi gave drivers the reassurance that traffic management personnel would be present to control traffic and lessen annoyances.

Since January, the bridge has been undergoing repairs, resulting in partial lane restrictions for both inbound and outbound traffic.
