Super Eagles of Nigeria: Second Position, First-Rate Finances!
Despite not winning the tournament, the Nigeria Super Eagles' financial future looks bright because they will be receiving N5.9 billion ($4 million) in prize money for finishing second.
The cash payout is remarkable even though they lost the Africa Cup of Nations championship match 2-1 to the hosts, Cote d'Ivoire, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in the tournament's 34th year. The winners of the TotalEnergies AFCON Côte d'Ivoire 2023, Cote d'Ivoire, would receive a $7 million award, according to the Confederation Atricaine de Football (CAF).
$4 million will now be awarded to the runner-up of the TotalEnergies AFCON Côte d'Ivoire 2023. The four quarterfinalists will get $1.3 million apiece, while the two semi-finalists will get $2.5 million each."Dr. Patrice, the President of CAF.
