Nyesom Wike Takes A Firm Stand On Ending Open Grazing in Abuja.
On March 6, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), pledged to end open grazing in Abuja.
He reminded people that efforts are underway to stop animals from roaming about the city heart of Abuja, expressing his concern with the movement of livestock there.
The guarantee was given by the minister in Abuja at a meeting with His Excellency Daniel Bertrand, the Belgian Ambassador to Nigeria.
According to Wike, he has started extensive conversations about the necessity of stopping cattle roaming throughout the city with a variety of important and pertinent parties.
He added that the administration was already using a variety of strategies to combat crime, including multiple measures, to combat insecurity in the Federal Capital.
To bolster municipal security, he continued, his administration has also increased its partnership push with private sector transit players.
Earlier in his speech, Ambassador Daniel Bertrand, who had voiced worries regarding cattle wandering the streets of Abuja, expressed his joy upon discovering that the minister had taken the initiative to combat the threat.
Additionally, Bertrand indicated an interest in persuading investors from his nation to collaborate with FCTA on the capital's development.
