At Least 30 Children Kidnapped In Kasai, Katsina State!

 In the early hours of Monday morning, bandits kidnapped thirty or more children from Kasai Village in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A villager who talked with Channels Television claimed that the children were taken by the kidnappers when they stepped outside the village to get firewood for their families.

“Yes, the attack occurred yesterday Monday, (April 1, 2024) in the morning hours. It all began when the children numbering up to thirty went behind the Kasai Village to secure firewood which, their parents will use to cook food for them.

“Unfortunately, some suspected bandits intercepted them and took them to an unknown destination.” 

It's still unclear why they kidnapped them, and the attackers haven't gotten in touch with their relatives to make any demands.

This event highlights the worsening security situation in the frontline districts of Katsina, where criminal activity and banditry have been on the rise.

As of the time of publishing, no word on the kidnapping had been released by security or local government representatives. 

Attempts to get to ASP There was no response to the questions sent to Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer Abubakar Sadiq.

The community is hoping for a speedy and satisfactory conclusion as they deal with the trauma of this most recent incident.
