Godwin Emefiele Granted N50 Million Bail Terms.
Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was granted N50 million in bail by Justice Rahman Oshodi on Friday.
Emefiele stood before Justice Oshodi during the court battle, entangled in a 23-count charge including abuse of office and fraud totaling $4.5 billion and N2.8 billion.
When granting bail, Justice Oshodi mandated that the former governor of the CBN provide two sureties.
The Court mandated that these sureties have a three-year tax history and be gainfully employed in Lagos State.
They must also register in the Lagos State Bail Management System and provide valid identification.
It's interesting to note that the judge replicated the bail requirements already set for Henry Isioma-Omoil, Emefiele's co-defendant, who is in front of Justice Olufunke Sule-Hamzat at the Yaba on a different case.
