As a part of a "black magic" ritual, a young man killed his mother by stabbing her. Sandra Maria dos Santos Carvalho, 58, was discovered in her Salvador, Brazil, house with several knife wounds and her hand severed.
On Saturday, April 20, shortly after the horrifying discovery, her son, Jose Natan Carvalho, was taken into custody. He acknowledged "cutting his mother's neck and her hand with a knife" when he appeared in court.
The 21-year-old reportedly desired to maintain her fingers in order to access her bank account's funds.
Local media were informed by Judge Leandro Florencio Rocha de Araujo that the child had admitted to the crime.
Carvalho said in court that he killed his mother in a "black magic ritual" since she had already carried out one against him.
The judge went on, “He admitted to cutting his mother’s neck with a knife and then amputating her hand to access money in her bank account.”

The Health Care Network (RAS) and Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) were cited by the judge.
