Man Who Reorted seeing Ocult Items In Man Labelled As "Yahoo Boy's" Car... Arrested By Ondo Police.

A suspect has been detained by the Ondo State Police Command in relation to his suspected role in the death of Temitope Olorunfemi, a 25-year-old who was lynched in Akure after being called a "Yahoo boy."

On Monday, April 10, 2023, a vengeful mob stoned Tope to death after his reported careless driving resulted in an accident that claimed one life and injured six more.

Following Temitope's death, the angry mob also set fire to his Toyota Camry (muscle vehicle) in front of his sobbing parents.

The late father, Mojisola Olorunfemi, refuted claims of being a con artist, as did his spouse, Mosunmola Bosede.

The women claimed that the deceased was an Uber driver who paid them a visit during the Easter holiday.

After being taken into custody, five individuals were later charged with the murder.

The latest revelation was confirmed by the command's spokeswoman, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She stated that the suspect had stated that fetish items had been discovered inside Temitope's automobile, leading to suspicions that he was a Yahoo boy.

The claims were reported to have infuriated the mob, which then turned on Temitope, beating him until he went unconscious and then stoned him to death.

The statement reads, “On the 10th April 2023, (Easter Monday) a young man was involved in a fatal motor accident along Ijoka road , Akure. He was labelled ‘ a yahoo boy’ and killed by an irate mob. The suspect who claimed to have seen “Ijapa Meta” and other fetish objects in his car has been arrested. Do not say what you can’t defend.”
