Ondo State Security Network Arrests 13 Suspected Kidnappers And 31 More Criminals.

 In the past two weeks, men from the Ondo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, have detained 45 suspected criminals, including 14 suspected kidnappers.



When Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the state's security outfit commander, paraded the suspects in Akure on Tuesday, April 10, 2024, he stated that they had been apprehended in various actions throughout the state's eighteen council areas.

“Among the 45 suspects, we have 14 kidnappers, one dangerous driving, 5 burglary cases, two anti-grazing, four destruction of public peace, stealing and buying of stolen goods,” he said. 
 
"In the spirit of the festive period, the governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has directed that 28 of them, having been profiled as first-time offenders whose offenses are not ones with capital punishment.

"They are to be released to their next of kin for rehabilitation with strict warning not to perpetrate such acts again.

"The remaining will face the full wrath of the law for committing such crimes because we have profiled them

"We have a particular case where we were able to break the kidnap syndicate in Akoko local government.

"In our effort to bring them out, the kidnapper that already confessed was macheted by his fellow kidnapper in order to cover up the crime. The officers of the corps rushed the kidnapper to the hospital and he was treated. He has given useful information.

“This kidnap syndicate has confessed to several kidnapping activities in Akoko, Kogi, and Edo areas. We are still looking for their sponsor who is at large.”

Adeleye promised the state's residents that there would be no place for criminals to hide out.
