Prince Harry Declares The United States Is His New Country Of Residency.

For the first time since breaking away from the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry has named the United States as his primary place of residence.

Harry, the Duke of Sussex, recently changed his housing records, indicating that the US is now his "New Country/State Usually Resident," according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Even though Harry's eco-travel company, Travalyst, filed its paperwork with Companies House on Wednesday, he conspicuously included June 29, 2023, as the "date of change."

Three months after being forced to leave their house, Frogmore Cottage, by King Charles III, Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, made their official exit from the United Kingdom on June 28.

Although it is unknown if Harry's decision to renounce his British residency will affect any of his royal titles, he will see his father in London the following month.

Harry clarified in December 2023 that he still saw of the UK as his "home" despite the legal shift, but that he felt "forced" to leave for safety reasons and travel to the US.

“The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US,” the duke said in a written statement read in a London court amid his legal bid for taxpayer-funded police security, which was denied. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.”

Harry had previously shown a desire to become an American citizen.

In February, he said on "Good Morning America," "The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly is not something that is a high priority for me right now."

With their two kids, Harry and Markle have resided in California for the past four years, and the former suggests that they intend to stay there for some time.

“It’s amazing,” he said of West Coast living. “I love every single day.”
