Reps Request That Increase In Electricity Tariff Be Suspended And Invites The Minister Of Petroleum Regarding Fuel Scarcity.

The National Electricity Regulatory Commission, or NERC, has been instructed by the House of Representatives to halt its rate increase.

In response to the present fuel shortage, it also called in the Minister of Petroleum Resources. These choices came after Shehu Ajilo and Kama Nkem Karama's respective proposals were approved on Tuesday.

Recall that NERC issued the tariff increase order while Congress was on vacation. In addition, because NNPC Limited is unable to supply traders with merchandise, gasoline scarcity is wreaking havoc across the entire nation.

The motion on petroleum scarcity was made by Shehu Ajilo, and it was approved without discussion. The Minister of Petroleum Resources was instructed by the House to come before the House.

Nkemkanma made the move to suspend the electricity pricing in the meantime.

The Minister of Power was ordered by the House to appear before a special committee that was tasked with investigating the hike.

In addition, the motion was approved without discussion.
