Spain's Queen Sofia Was Rushed To The Hospital!

Spain's Queen Sofia has been taken to a hospital in Madrid. On Wednesday, April 10, the 85-year-old king was brought to the Ruber International Clinic in Madrid for treatment of a urinary tract infection.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, her son King Felipe, 56, was subsequently seen waving from the passenger seat of his Lexus after visiting her in the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and Tuesday night.

"She is very well, cheerful, and eager to be discharged and return as soon as possible," he told the media outside the hospital, assuaging the fears of the worried royal fans.

Since her husband, King Juan Carlos, abdicated the throne in favor of their son, Felipe, in 2014, Sofia has served as the "queen mother" of Spain.

Along with many other well-known guests, she recently attended Teresa Urquijo and Madrid Mayor Luis Martínez-Almeida's wedding celebration.

Juan Carlos, Sofia's spouse, and their two children, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina, also attended. Juan, the son of Cristina, and Victoria and Felipe, Elena's children, were also there.
