Agbu Kefas, the governor of Taraba State, has reassured the people of Takum in Takum Local Government Area that the government is prepared to rebuild the homes that were recently damaged by the windstorm that hit the area last Tuesday evening during a period of intense rainfall.
Governor Kefas ordered field personnel to assess the extent of the damage, provide quick solutions to the crisis, and lay out plans to prevent similar incidents in the future, before sending a team of state officials to visit the affected communities.
The governor then paid Takum a personal visit on Wednesday to obtain a first assessment of the losses, the expressed empathy for the victims. He encouraged them while conducting a physical survey of some of the city's impacted areas. He reaffirmed his intention to repair the homes that had been destroyed and to provide the victims with assistance.
