ICC Seeks Arrest Warrants for Israeli and Hamas Leaders.

In a groundbreaking move, Karim Khan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), has applied for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant. This application also targets key Hamas leaders, including Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, political leader Ismail Haniyeh, and military chief Mohammed Deif.

Khan announced that his office has approached the ICC’s pre-trial chamber to secure these warrants in connection with crimes committed during Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel and the subsequent conflict in Gaza. This action underscores the ICC's commitment to addressing accountability and pursuing justice for violations of international law in conflict zones.

This significant step by the ICC highlights the ongoing efforts to hold leaders accountable for their actions during periods of intense conflict, reinforcing the importance of legal oversight and the pursuit of international justice.
