Lagos State Police Arrests Party Host Over Death Incidence During Party.
In relation to a man's death at a party in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ijora Badia, a woman named Salisu Aishat and seven other people have been taken into custody.
When the incident happened, Aishat and her guests were on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, celebrating her birthday.
Punch reported that while everyone was having a great time at the celebration, the victim was discovered unconscious on the party venue's floor.
Upon closer inspection, it was evident that the victim suffered a head wound.
A fight broke out during the party, according to an eyewitness who spoke to the publication, and it's possible that the victim was hurt in the altercation.
According to a source, “There was a party on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, and a fight broke out during the celebration. Suddenly, the man was found lying down on the ground and when people moved closer to him, they discovered he had died and a wound was on his head.
The case was reported at the Ijora Badia Division and when policemen got to the scene and did their investigation, they arrested the celebrant who organized the party and some other persons.”
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, confirmed to Punch that the incident occurred on April 16, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., and that a concerned community member was the one who initially reported the incident to the authorities.
He added “Immediately, the DPO led his patrol team to the scene and the celebrant, Salisu Aishat, and seven others were arrested. A wound was discovered on the head of the corpse.
The corpse was evacuated and deposited in the Mainland Hospital morgue, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.”
