Muhammadu Sanusi Reinstated as Emir of Kano in Historic Ceremony.

For the second time, Muhammadu Sanusi has been turbaned as the Emir of Kano. On Friday, May 24, 2024, the ceremony was held in the Kano State Government House.

After the statute that Umar Ganduje, the previous governor, had used to overthrow him in March 2020 was repealed, the former governor of the CBN was re-instated as the Emir on Friday, May 24.

The Muslim Jumat prayer was scheduled to be led by the Emir at the Kano Central mosque, which is housed in the Kofar Kudu palace, today, May 24.
