Nigerian Military Forces In Kaduna, Ambush Terrorists, Eliminate Six, And Retrieve Weapons.

Six terrorists were ambushed and neutralized by Nigerian Army troops stationed in Kaduna state for counterterrorism operations. In addition, weapons and other supplies were recovered.

The army quickly mobilized to intercept the threat on Friday, May 24, 2024, after receiving credible intelligence about the movement of terrorist forces in the state's Giwa and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas.

The ambush operation was carried out at Kidandan Junction in Giwa LGA, where the forces waited and established contact with the terrorists, according to a statement released by the Army on Saturday, May 25. After exchanging gunfire, the terrorists abandoned one weapon and ran.

The soldiers proceeded with their task, clearing the villages of Yuna and Basurfe. They found one motorbike that the terrorists had abandoned when they fled over a neighbouring river valley during this phase.

With unwavering persistence, the troops pursued the terrorists to Katoge village, a well-known terrorist stronghold and crossing location. There, they spotted the terrorists' scout, who was promptly eliminated and one semi-automatic pump-action rifle was found.

The operation came to an end in Birnin Gwari LGA's Saulawa village when the military came across multiple insurgents on motorbikes, sparking a fierce gunfight.

By using overwhelming gunfire, the brave soldiers were able to neutralise five additional terrorists. Nine motorcycles, one G3 gun, and one AK-47 rifle were also recovered as a result of the fight.
