2 People Rescued Following the Collapse of a 3 Story Building in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.

On Tuesday evening, June 18, a three-story building that was under construction inside the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, collapsed.

It was stated that two employees who were inside the building when it collapsed became trapped.

First, one of the workers was saved, and he was brought to the hospital to receive treatment.

The second victim was rescued to safety by a rescue squad made up of engineers, representatives from the Capital Territory Development Authority, the State Ministry of Works, and security services.

When he was finally freed, he appeared frail and worn out and was taken immediately to the hospital for treatment.

Four days prior to the building's collapse, at Eduna Street along Hatchery Road in Abakiliki, a three-story hotel structure under construction also fell.
