David Gikaria and Wife Publicly Extend Their Apology in 'I'm Sorry' T-Shirts for Supporting Kenya's Controversial Finance Bill 2024.
Member of Parliament (MP) David Gikaria of Nakuru Town East and his spouse, Violet Nzisa Katua, have unexpectedly expressed regret for endorsing the Finance Bill 2024.
They were seen together on Friday, June 28, 2024, with matching white t-shirts bearing the words "I am sorry," which became popular on social media very fast.
This unusual way of apologizing has garnered a lot of attention and conversation among internet users. Gikaria's audacious action highlights his recognition of the issue surrounding his bill sponsorship.
His Shirt read: “I am sorry, Please forgive me for not listening to you in rejecting the finance bill.”
Nzisa, on the other side, was seen wearing a similar t-shirt that said, "He is sorry, Please forgive him," in support of her husband.
Gikaria's action comes a few days after a number of other MPs apologised on social media for supporting the Finance Bill 2024, which sparked violent protests across the nation.
