Diddy's Howard University Honorary Degree gets Withdrawn, and School Board Orders Return of His $1 Dollars Donation.

In a unanimous vote, the Howard University Board of Trustees decided to revoke the honorary degree that Sean "Diddy" Combs was awarded in 2014.

After a 2016 security footage of Combs physically abusing singer Cassie Ventura in the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, was made public by CNN, the decision was made.

The historically Black college or university in Washington, DC, announced that it will end its scholarship programme in Combs' honour.

As per the announcement released by the Howard University Board of Trustees, "this acceptance revokes all honours and privileges associated with the degree." The Board has ordered that Combs's name be struck from all records of Howard University honorary degree holders.

According to the university, Mr. Combs is no longer deserving of the greatest honour at Howard University because of his actions, which were caught on camera and just made public, are so fundamentally at odds with the school's guiding principles. The board went on to say, "The University is unwavering in its opposition to all acts of interpersonal violence," providing a link to the institution's webpage dedicated to preventing interpersonal violence.

Additionally, the Board has ordered the University administration to repay Combs' $1 million contribution, dissolve the scholarship programme named in his honour, and end a 2016 gift agreement. Additionally, Howard will end a 2023 commitment deal with the Sean Combs Foundation, which included a $1 million pledge. As of this writing, no money was owed or contributed by the Sean Combs Foundation towards that commitment.

The announcement from Howard University coincides with the continuing scandal surrounding the once-loved music entrepreneur of Bad Boy Records. Since November, when Ventura accused Combs in a now-settled claim of years of abuse during their relationship and of raping her in 2018, Combs has been mentioned in eight cases.

Combs has been charged with sexual misconduct and other crimes in a number of subsequent lawsuits. While he hasn't addressed every accusation made against him, he has refuted numerous civil lawsuit charges.

Federal investigation into Combs and claims of sex trafficking has already been started by the investigative branch of the US Department of Homeland Security. As part of the investigation, on March 25, investigators searched his houses in Miami and Los Angeles. The music executive has not been charged with any federal crimes.

The CNN-published surveillance footage may be used as proof in the federal inquiry.
