Masked Gunmen Attack French Wedding, Leaving One Dead and Five Injured in Drug-Related Violence.

After breaking into a French wedding ceremony, a masked group left one dead and five injured.
According to sources, the incident in Thionville, a city in northern France, was related to drug traffickers settling scores. Overnight on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, the Eden Palace reception hall was the site of a gunshot. About one hundred people, mostly from the nearby Turkish community, were said to be present.

In the attack at one in the morning, a guy in his 30s was slain and three others suffered significant injuries. It is said that two of them are in potentially fatal conditions.

A guy was hurt by glass fragments, and a pregnant woman was said to be in shock in addition to receiving minor injuries. The victims range in age from 25 to 50. By the time police arrived, the three males who had apparently been wearing black hoodies and face coverings had left the site. They are believed to still remain at large and have not yet been recognized.

According to a police source, "It was during a wedding. At a quarter past one in the morning, a group of people went outside to smoke in front of the hall, and then three heavily armed men arrived and opened fire in their direction.”

Local media reports state that when the attackers opened fire, firing more than fifteen rounds at the wedding guests, three of the dead were reportedly standing outside the venue and two in the entry hall.

Witnesses told the local media that one shotgun and two Kalashnikovs were used in the attack.

Numerous ammunition rounds were discharged. In a statement, prosecutor Nancy Francois Capin-Dulhoste stated that four persons had been shot.

“Currently, one has died, three others are in a state of absolute emergency. Two other people also suffered minor injuries, in particularly due to shards of glass.”

The informant stated that the attackers arrived in a 4X4 car, "probably a BMW."

Law enforcement officials think that the violence was caused by a score being settled related to narcotics trafficking.

Le Parisien claims that the authorities are aware of drug cases involving the deceased and the three injured guys.

Investigators are attempting to determine how the perpetrators knew when they launched their attack that their targets would be apart from other guests.

A source disclosed, “The wedding was not targeted as such, it was people who were at the wedding.”

“At this stage, the motives for the shooting remain unknown,” the prosecutor said.

It is acknowledged that cameras were used to record the attack at the location and that CCTV is in place.

Sunday morning's photos from the scene showed a glass door punctured with at least five gunshot holes, which is probably how glass shards hurt some of the victims.

The German and Luxembourgish borders are not far from Thionville, a city that is a well-known target for drug trafficking.
