Rivers State University Takes a Stand Against Campus Violence by Suspending 4 Bullies.
Four students who were part of a Man O' War campus security organization were suspended for one academic session by the administration of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, in Rivers State, for assaulting a 300-level student named Victor Tobin.
In a statement issued on Saturday, June 15, the institution's acting registrar, I.B. Harry, stated that the decision was made on Friday, June 14.
Victor Tobin, a 300-level student in the Department of Sociology, was allegedly assaulted and physically injured by Monsi Baridukaka Nwaaelibabari of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Victor Chibuike Daniel of the Animal Science Department, Ezems Ikechukwu Goodluck of the Electrical Engineering Department, and Wilson Jacob Ree-Ugani of the Marine Engineering Department. For this reason, the students were suspended. On June 12, 2024, at Hostel F on the university campus, the incident took place.
The student registrar issued an appeal to all students to uphold the university's norms and regulations with utmost diligence and to continue living in harmony and peace.
