Supreme Court Upholds Conviction of Former Bank PHB MD Francis Atuche After 13-Years of Legal Battle.

After nearly 13 years of legal proceedings, the Supreme Court of Nigeria upheld the conviction of Francis Atuche, former Managing Director of the defunct Bank PHB Plc, for his involvement in a N25.7 billion fraud scheme. Justice Moore Adumein delivered the court's decision, confirming the judgments of the lower courts. Atuche and his co-defendant Ugo Anyanwu were initially sentenced to 12 and 10 years in prison, respectively, which were later reduced to six and eight years by the Court of Appeal. Atuche's appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected, solidifying his and Anyanwu's convictions and sentences, and concluding a lengthy legal saga
