Couple Fatally Struck on Their Way to Farm in FCT.

While riding their motorbike to the farm, Alhaji Musa Baba and his wife, Fatima Baba, of the Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were struck and killed by a car.

The accident happened close to the Abaji General Hospital intersection at around three o'clock, according to a witness account. The witness stated that the couple was run over by a Mercedes Benz that was coming from the Gwagwalada axis.

"The man died on the spot while his wife gave up at the hospital where she was rushed to," the source said.

According to the witness, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel showed up at the scene swiftly and took the bodies to the hospital.

Later, Malam Ishaq Baba Tsana, the Deputy Imam of Abaji Central Mosque, delivered funeral prayers for the couple at the football ground of Abaji Science Primary School.

Residents of Abaji have requested that the Federal Ministry of Works build an overhead bridge or interchange in the wake of the sad tragedy in order to stop more accidents and fatalities in the area.
