D'Tigress Make History with Victory Over Australia at 2024 Summer Olympics
D'Tigress of Nigeria made history on Monday morning when they defeated Australia in their first-ever match at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. In a stunning performance, D'Tigress emerged victorious from an Olympic contest for the first time, defeating Australia 75-62 in the opening match.
Although they were not the favorites going into the match, they surprised everyone with their impressive win to start the campaign. French professional Ezzine Kalu, who scored 19 points, exuded sophistication on the floor, playing a key role in the victory.
Nigeria won the first quarter 18-17 after overcoming a sluggish start. They followed up with an even better second quarter, winning 23-11.
D'Tigress will next play hosts France before wrapping up their group-stage campaign against Canada on August 4.
