Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim Leaves PDP for APC.

Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former Senate President, has left the opposition party to become a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Anyim announced his candidature for the APC at a gathering in Abakaliki today, 13 July, when high-profile new members of the party in Ebonyi State were welcomed by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Anyim, who held the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, ran in the Peoples Democratic Party's 2022 presidential primary but received just 14 votes.

Between 1999 and 2003, he served as the senator for Ebonyi South Senatorial District and was chosen as the PDP's presidential candidate.
