Lagos State Government Announces Road Closure for Asphalt Work on Osborne Foreshore Estate Phase 1.
The Lagos State Government announced that the Federal Ministry of Works will be able to pour asphalt on the portion of Osborne Foreshore Estate Phase 1 that runs from the Adeniji ramp to its whole. This work will take place from midnight on Saturday, July 13, 2024, to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15.
According to a statement issued by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the state commissioner for transportation, drivers are advised to use the following alternate routes:
"Scene 1: Motorists from Alexander/Glover are to make use of Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue inwards Ikoyi to connect Obalende/Ring Road and access 3rd Mainland Bridge for their desired destinations," he stated.
"Scene 2: Motorists from Victoria Island are expected to go through Falomo Roundabout to link Awolowo Road and access 3rd Mainland Bridge for their desired destinations."
Additionally, drivers from Victoria Island are recommended to use Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue to connect with Mekunwen Bridge. From there, they should drive to CMS/Apongbon Bridge and then on to Eko Bridge to reach Funsho Williams Avenue and their intended locations. Drivers on the opposite side of the Sura Bridge will experience smooth traffic flow into Osborne Foreshore Estate during the closure time.
The press release concluded with an advisory: "Motorists are implored to be patient as the closure is part of the traffic management plans for an improved journey experience."
