President Biden Reaffirms Candidacy Amid Intraparty Tensions.

American President Joe Biden has informed members of the Democratic Party that he will not be resigning from his position as the party's nominee for president when the election is held in November.
The President stated on Monday that it is not appropriate to discuss his resignation at this time. The President has been under pressure to withdraw his candidature following a series of embarrassing moments in a televised debate with Republican Party opponent Donald Trump.

There has already been discussion that, should Biden decide he wants to retire from politics, he may nominate Vice President Kamala Harris to run for the Democratic Party's presidential ticket in the election scheduled for November 5.

In opposition to this idea, President Biden reaffirmed his candidature in a letter to congressional Democrats on Monday, calling for a stop to the "intraparty drama" that has splintered Democrats ever since his much-discussed public debate.

Biden stated in his letter; “The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now; and it’s time for it to end.”

As Congress prepared to reconvene in Washington, D.C., to determine whether to collaborate with Biden or exclude him from the 2024 presidential contest, word of Biden's letter leaked out.

This is a sensitive topic at a potentially pivotal moment for the future of the Democratic Party, the lawmakers, and Biden's chances of reelection.

However, Biden noted that the Democratic Party's only task is to defeat Donald Trump, the presidential nominee of the Republican Party, and not waste time worrying about how well or poorly he performed in the presidential debate.

In a letter sent out by representatives of his reelection campaign, Biden stated: “We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It’s time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump.”
