Rising Insecurity in Anambra State.

Anambra State, home of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, is currently experiencing a surge in insecurity. Citizens criticize the governor and newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Enaghe Obono Itam, for inadequate action against the increasing violence.
Since the retirement of former Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, who was known for his tough stance against cultists, insecurity has worsened. Within a week, eight young people have been killed in cult-related incidents.

The Anambra State Police warned against gatherings for the cult celebration on July 7th, yet three people were shot dead in Awka on the same day. Kidnappings have also surged, with four cases reported in one day.

According to DAILY POST, former governorship candidate Valentine Ozigbo and others blame Governor Soludo for the deteriorating security situation, urging him to take immediate action. Despite promises of improving the state, critics argue that Anambra's security, quality of life, and governance have declined under Soludo’s leadership.
