Take It Back Movement Plans One-Million-Man Protest Across Nigeria

The Take It Back Movement, a key organizer of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance demonstrations, has announced plans for a one-million-man protest scheduled for this Saturday across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, the movement's national coordinator, Mr. Sanyaolu Juwon, declared, “The Take It Back Movement (TIB), alongside other organizers and organizations, will on August 10 lead a monumental one-million-man protest in each of the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”

Juwon highlighted that this event marks a critical juncture in the nationwide EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which began on August 1, 2024. Originally planned as a 10-day protest, the movement has evolved into a widespread campaign, drawing participants from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

The protest began on August 1 and is set to conclude on August 10. Its objective is to draw attention to the suffering of the populace and demand action from all levels of government.

Despite some criminal elements disrupting the demonstrations, there has been significant participation nationwide, especially in the northern states. The protests in Abuja, Kano, and other regions continued on Sunday, even after President Bola Tinubu's nationwide televised call for demonstrators to step down and allow his administration more time.
