Tobi Amusan Dominates 100-Meter Hurdles, Advances to Semifinals

Tobi Amusan, a Nigerian track and field star, has made an impressive start on her quest for an Olympic medal in Paris. The world record holder dominated the women's 100-meter hurdles heat event, clocking a remarkable 12.49 seconds despite starting in lane 9.

Alysha Johnson secured second place with a time of 12.61 seconds, while Janeek Brown finished in third.

Amusan, who set the world record in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, has advanced to the semifinals. This will be her second Olympic appearance, following her debut in Tokyo three years ago.
