APC Leader Claims Tinubu Administration Is Running Multiple Budgets Amid Rising Corruption Concerns

Salihu Lukman, a former national vice chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has alleged that President Bola Tinubu's administration is managing multiple budgets simultaneously. Lukman, known for his vocal criticism of the current administration, made this claim during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV.

Although Lukman did not provide evidence to back his claims, he expressed concerns that the alleged move by the federal government could worsen corruption in Nigeria. “For the first time, we are having a situation where about two or three budgets are being run concurrently at the federal level and what that means is that the chances that corruption may increase are higher,” he alleged.

Lukman also criticized the Tinubu administration's handling of national security, acknowledging the party's failure to address key challenges, particularly insecurity. He said, “In 2014-2015, as a party, we promised three things. We promised to revive the economy, we promised to deal with corruption, and fight insecurity. On the issue of insecurity, at that time, the critical issue was Boko Haram. It didn’t degenerate to banditry the way we are having it now.”

He added, “The Asiwaju that ruled Lagos is not the Asiwaju that’s ruling Nigeria today; I believe that he doesn’t have the right people around him.”

Lukman further criticized the political landscape in Nigeria, claiming, “The ruling and opposition parties are all the same, so in actuality, Nigeria has no parties, just politicians who act the same way.”
