Bobrisky Refutes Allegations of Bribing EFCC Officials

Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a controversial crossdresser, has denied allegations that he bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials. On Tuesday night, influencer Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio recording purportedly of Bobrisky claiming he paid N15 million to EFCC officers.

In the alleged audio, Bobrisky is heard stating that the payment was made to have money laundering charges against him dropped. Additionally, he claimed that despite being sentenced to six months in prison, he never actually spent a day behind bars.

Bobrisky was convicted of naira mutilation in April 2024 and sentenced to six months. According to the recording, Bobrisky alleged that his godfather arranged for him to serve the sentence in a lodge rather than in prison.

However, in response, Bobrisky called the circulating audio clip fake, asserting that he had fully served his prison term. He took to Instagram to refute the allegations, stating: "A phoney voice recording that is going around the internet claims that I paid the EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never incarcerated has caught my notice. I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information.”
