Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment to Combatting Insecurity, Visits Yobe State to Sympathize Over Mafa Attack

The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing various forms of insecurity across Nigeria’s diverse regions.

Leading a presidential delegation to Yobe State, Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, assured the state government and people of the federal government's dedication to resolving insecurity. The delegation visited to express sympathy following the recent attack on the Mafa community.

Edun emphasized that the visit demonstrated the federal government’s unwavering resolve to restore stability and peace across the country. On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, the Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Yobe State and the families affected by the Mafa attack.

Also part of the delegation, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor (NSA), assured that the end of banditry and terrorism in Nigeria is on the horizon. He praised the military and security agencies for their ongoing efforts in safeguarding lives and property, particularly in the Northeast.

“The security agencies have been remarkable, making significant sacrifices to protect lives and property across the country. What we are witnessing now is the beginning of the end—soon, the entire country will be secured,” Ribadu stated.

In response, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State expressed gratitude for the federal government’s visit, noting that it gave the state’s residents a sense of belonging during a difficult period.

“The administration and people of Yobe State are thankful for this visit, which has brought a sense of solidarity to our state,” said Gov. Buni, adding his appreciation for President Tinubu’s leadership during challenging times.

Similarly, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, traveled to Damaturu to express their condolences to the local government and people of Yobe State.

Ganduje reiterated that the NWC stood in solidarity with the state during this difficult time of ruthless attacks and unnecessary loss of innocent lives.

“We are part of the Yobe family. We share in the pain and sorrow suffered by the government and people of Yobe State, and we are here to express our condolences to our brothers and sisters,” Ganduje stated.
