Gunmen Attack Market in Plateau State, Six Injured in Fresh Violence

At least six persons were shot by gunmen in the Congo hamlet of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. According to community sources who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, one victim is critically injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The attack occurred on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at around 7 p.m. when the gunmen stormed a market in Daffo ward and opened fire on the victims just after the market had closed for the day.

Although most traders and consumers had left, a few remained on the premises when the shooting began.

The incident has raised tensions in the area, as several communities within Bokkos LGA have experienced similar attacks in recent times.
