Journalist Rufai Oseni Challenges Claims of Tinubu’s Role in Developing Lagos State

Nigerians who contend that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was responsible for Lagos State's development while serving as governor have their assertions disproved by journalist Rufai Oseni. Oseni refuted the conventional wisdom, pointing out that before Tinubu took power in 1999, the majority of foreign companies had their headquarters or offices in Lagos.

Oseni argued that Tinubu's initiatives were not the only reason for the state's success, pointing out that Lagos's economic importance existed before his administration. He questioned Tinubu's use of taxpayer money to purchase a private jet for the president as well, demanding responsibility and openness on the matter.

Oseni's statements have sparked conversations about the extent of Tinubu’s contributions to Lagos State’s development, with some supporting his claims and others defending the president’s legacy.
