Troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), have successfully neutralized notorious bandit commander Kachallah Buzu, along with several of his fighters, in a major security victory in Zamfara State.

The operation occurred on Thursday night, September 12, 2024, in Mayanchi village. According to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the military carried out the operation after receiving intelligence reports regarding the terrorists' movements.

Sources confirmed that the ambush led to significant casualties among the bandit group, including the death of their leader, Buzu. This marks a critical blow to the group's operational strength.

In addition to neutralizing several fighters, the troops seized 30 motorcycles and a large cache of weapons, further crippling the group’s ability to operate in the region.
