NNPP Dissolves State Executive Committees in Five States, Announces Reorganization Plans

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) has dissolved the executive committees in the states of Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi, and Gombe. This dissolution affects the entire executive structure of the party from the state to the ward level in the mentioned states.

The announcement was made in Abuja by the NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ladipo Johnson, who stated that the decision was one of several taken during an emergency NWC meeting held on Thursday. According to Johnson, the action is part of the party’s efforts to revitalize and reposition the NNPP in the affected areas.

Caretaker committees will be appointed to replace the disbanded state executives, as stipulated by the party’s April 6, 2024, updated constitution, particularly sections 14.2.1 (iv, v) and 15.2.1 (xvi). “The dissolved executive committees shall, in accordance with the party’s constitution, be replaced by caretaker committees, which will be announced in a few days, for the stipulated period of time,” Johnson explained.

He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing members of the state executives for their contributions to the party and encouraged them to remain open to future service opportunities within the NNPP.

In addition, Johnson noted that the NWC had evaluated other state executives across the country and found them adequately prepared, both morally and legally, to conduct local government elections. He highlighted the Kano State executive as an example of high leadership standards and effectiveness, deeming it well-positioned to handle upcoming local council elections.
