Ohio Woman Arrested for Animal Cruelty After Disturbing Incident Involving Cat Consumption

A disturbing video showing a woman reportedly trampling on a cat’s head and consuming part of it in front of shocked onlookers has been released by Ohio police.

On August 16, Allexis Ferrell, 27, was discovered in Canton, Ohio, after neighbors called the police when they saw her with "fur on her lips and blood on her hands."

In the police report, officers stated that Ferrell had allegedly "smashed the cat's head with her foot and then began to eat the cat."

The police have now released bodycam footage of the incident, showing officers arriving at the scene and encountering Ferrell, who was squatting over the deceased animal. In the video, one officer asks her, "Did you eat that cat?" Ferrell remains silent but briefly shows her teeth for the camera.

Ferrell, a Canton resident of American descent, has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity to the fifth-degree felony charge of cruelty to companion animals. She is currently being held at Stark County Jail.

Shortly after officers arrived, Ferrell was apprehended. The video captures an officer asking for rubber gloves due to the blood on her hands. She was then placed in the squad car after being informed of her Miranda rights. The officer, visibly frustrated, asks, “Why did you kill it?” to which she quietly responds, “I don’t know.”

Ferrell’s actions have drawn attention due to their shocking nature, and the case is now under legal proceedings.
