Trump Alleges Iranian Assassination Plot Amid Heightened Security

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, has claimed that Iran is orchestrating a major assassination plot against him.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Trump expressed concern that while the U.S. military is closely monitoring the situation, Iran is moving forward with plans to kill him. He mentioned that a previous attempt by Iran had already failed.

“Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone,” Trump stated.

Trump emphasized the heightened security measures surrounding him, noting, “I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to the Secret Service – Zero ‘NO’ Votes, strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker.”

The former president's concerns come a few months after a separate assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, during his presidential campaign. A 20-year-old man, identified as Mathews Crooks, reportedly fired multiple shots at Trump but was unsuccessful in his attempt.
