Two Nigerian Men Convicted of Rape in the UK Await Sentencing

Two men have been found guilty of multiple rape charges in the UK, involving a 17-year-old victim at an apartment in Abington Square, Northampton.

On March 12, 2022, Tosin Dada, 34, formerly of Knox Road, Wellingborough, and Solomon Ibukun Adebiyi, 39, formerly of Stanley Street, Northampton, were charged with three counts of rape each. The men claimed that their encounter with the victim was consensual.

However, after eight hours of deliberation, the jury at Northampton Crown Court reached a unanimous verdict last week, convicting both men of all charges. The trial lasted nine days, and the verdict was delivered as announced by Northamptonshire Police on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Dada and Adebiyi have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to be sentenced on October 25, 2024, at Northampton Crown Court.
