Burna Boy Sets New Record as Nigerian Artist with Most Billboard Hot 100 Chart Appearances

Singer Burna Boy, also known as Damini Ogulu, has made history by surpassing his colleague Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs on the US Billboard Hot 100. This milestone was achieved with the debut of Coldplay's "We Pray," featuring Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini Stoessel, on this week's chart.

The inclusion of "We Pray" brings Burna Boy's total number of Billboard Hot 100 chart appearances to six, breaking his tie with Tems, who currently has five entries. Wizkid, the first Nigerian artist to debut on the chart, has four entries to his name.

Other Nigerian artists who have made the list include Rema, CKay, Fireboy DML, Davido, and Lojay, each with one entry. With just one more charting song, Burna Boy could surpass South African rock band Seether to become the African musician with the most all-time Billboard Hot 100 chart entries.
