Dangote Refinery Sues NNPCL and Other Companies Over Import Licenses, Seeks N100 Billion in Damages
Dangote Refinery has filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to revoke the import permits granted to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), as well as to A. A. Rano and Matrix Petroleum Services Limited. The refinery is challenging the grounds for allowing these companies to import petroleum products, citing the production of AGO and Jet-A1 by the Dangote Refinery, which reportedly exceeds the current daily consumption of petroleum products in Nigeria.
The lawsuit, filed under case number FHC/ABJ/CS/1324/2024, names the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) as a defendant, and Dangote Refinery is seeking N100 billion in damages.
