FRSC Detains 20 Drivers for Traffic Violations on Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has detained 20 drivers for multiple traffic violations on the Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway, according to Mr. Wasiu Ogunmefun, the FRSC Ota Unit Commander.

Ogunmefun disclosed the arrests on Thursday in Ota, Ogun State, during an interview with NAN. The action is part of the FRSC's ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws and reduce reckless driving along the corridor.

Out of the 20 drivers detained, 15 were fined based on their respective offenses, while five were released.

"This is part of the command’s continuous efforts to stem road crashes and curb deviant behaviours among the drivers in Ota and its environs," Ogunmefun stated. He further added that the punishments are intended to serve as a deterrent to other drivers who may consider violating traffic regulations in the area.
