Suspected Political Thugs Set Fire to New Council Secretariat in Rivers State

Suspected political thugs have reportedly set fire to the newly constructed council secretariat in Isiokpo, located in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. The incident occurred just a few hours after Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered the immediate removal of police personnel from the state’s 23 local government secretariats.

A video circulated online showed part of the secretariat’s administrative building in flames. However, the extent of the damage remains unclear, and police authorities have yet to issue an official response to the incident.
