Domestic Dispute in Ibadan Ends in Tragedy: Police Investigate Incident Involving Couple in Oyo State

Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu, 33, has been taken into police custody following an incident involving her husband, Olusegun Tinubu, 39, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident occurred on the evening of October 30, 2024, around 10 p.m., in the Gbeyi area of the Adegbayi neighborhood. The couple, who have been married for approximately three years and share two children, reportedly engaged in a serious altercation.

According to sources, the conflict began when Comfort allegedly locked her husband out of their bedroom, resulting in a confrontation. A family member stated, “I received a call around 10:03 p.m. that there was an altercation, and my brother was taken to the hospital. Sadly, we learned about 30 minutes later that he had passed away.”

Upon reporting the incident to the police, Comfort allegedly shared that the argument started when her husband questioned her about locking their bedroom door after leaving the house in the morning and returning in the evening. According to her statement, tensions escalated after this confrontation.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, and both family members and legal representatives are providing necessary support to the couple's two young children during this difficult time.
