Doyin Okupe Predicts Tinubu’s Re-election in 2027, Emphasizes Promise of Economic Resolution
Former presidential spokesperson Doyin Okupe believes that Nigerians will re-elect President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, allowing him to complete two eight-year terms as permitted by the constitution. Speaking on Channels TV, Okupe emphasized that the nation’s regions share an “unwritten understanding” about rotating the presidency between the North and South.
“Nigerians will decide so. I am sure. Nigerians are reasonable, sensible people, not demanding too much from their leaders. If Bola Tinubu gives us light in 2027, if Bola Tinubu resolves this fuel crisis and this food crisis between now and that time, you’ll see that people will go on the streets and say it’s Bola or nobody.”
Okupe, who previously supported Labour Party’s Peter Obi, addressed the social media label “T-Pain” assigned to Tinubu. According to Okupe, “The term ‘T-Pain’ means temporary pain that will lead to an extensive, pleasant and something good for the nation.”
