NEMA Confirms Rescue of Five Survivors from Collapsed Building in Ibadan, Ten Lives Lost
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced that at least five individuals were successfully rescued from a collapsed building in Ibadan’s Jegede neighborhood, in collaboration with relevant partners.
NEMA's South West Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Kadiri Olanrewaju, shared with DAILY POST that the agency received a distress alert on Thursday.
"With the combined effort of response stakeholders, five persons were rescued alive, including one adult male, two adult females, and two children,” he stated. “The rescued victims were transported to Mercyland Clinic and Maternity Center for urgent medical care. Tragically, ten lives were lost in the incident.”
One adult victim has since been discharged, while another, who was unconscious, was transferred to Adeoyo General Hospital in Temetu, Ibadan, for further treatment.
