Nigeria Police Alerts FCT Residents of a Simulation Exercise on Crisis Response Around Idu Train Station

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has informed residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs about a crisis response simulation exercise scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Idu Train Station.

According to a statement issued by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, the Federal Government, in collaboration with the NPF and the Office of the National Security Adviser, has organized the exercise to enhance the readiness of security forces to respond effectively to emerging security threats across the country.

The simulation will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will feature heavy sounds of explosives as part of the training.

Residents are urged not to panic during the exercise, as it will be conducted in a controlled environment with no risk to public safety. The statement emphasized the importance of understanding the exercise’s objectives and cooperating with security agencies.

“Members of the public are hereby enjoined not to panic as the exercise, which will come with heavy sounds of explosives, will be carried out in a controlled environment with no possible danger to residents as it is aimed at simulating response to emergency situations,” Adejobi stated.

The NPF also expressed gratitude to the public for their support and understanding.
