Nigerian Air Force Airstrikes Neutralize Senior ISWAP Commander and 50 Militants in Marte Operation
The Nigerian Air Force has reported that an airstrike in Marte Local Government Area led to the deaths of 50 militants, including Bashir Dauda, a senior commander in the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP). According to Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the precision airstrikes targeted established ISWAP strongholds in the villages of Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe.
In a statement released on Monday night, Akinboyewa confirmed that an on-ground assessment verified the neutralization of approximately 50 terrorists, including Bashir Dauda. The operation also destroyed a supply depot in Jubularam, which stored essential supplies such as beans, millet, and rice—key resources for ISWAP’s logistics.
“These successful air strikes, aimed at disrupting both personnel and supply chains, underscore NAF’s ongoing commitment to supporting ground forces and strengthening collaborative efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region,” he added.
